Family engagement is often noted as an essential component of an MTSS framework, but schools often dedicate the least systematized effort toward family engagement, relative to the other components of a strong MTSS framework.

A new research study shows that effectively engaging families decreased student absenteeism rates by 15% and led to 7-9% gains in student academic outcomes, with even greater impact among the highest-needs students. By systematically creating strong partnerships with families targeted at specific student needs, schools can accelerate learning and well-being gains for all students while closing the gap for the most traditionally underserved students.

In this webinar, Raj Rai of San Juan Unified School District and TalkingPoints advisor Kate Pechacek will discuss the five keys a head of communications can turn to unlock improved outcomes for students by shifting from one-way communications to impactful two-way, relationship-building engagement.
